Ports, Past and Present: Creative Connections across the Irish Sea Porthladdoedd, Ddoe a Heddiw: Cysylltiadau Creadigol ar draws Môr Iwerddon
13 July – 5 September 2022 | 13 Gorffennaf – 5 Medi 2022
Pembroke Dock Library reopened their exhibition space after the pandemic to enable work from Creative Connections to be shown in the community. The show was hung in mid-July.
The space was not suitable for the large Community Boat or very large framed works. The exhibition included smaller boats from Marged Pendrell’s flotilla, and Peter Stevenson’s framed illustrations from his Fibbing from Fishguard stories. A large monitor showed the films made by David Begley (The Wexford Whale) and Peter Stevenson and Jacob Whittaker (Uisce Dŵr Water) on a loop. We updated the information panels about the project and the Port Places Project app, and included additional writing by Kathy D’Arcy about Pembroke Dock.
Towards the end of the exhibition Martin Crampin gave a short talk on the work of the project prior to leading a walk to see stained glass in the town. The group returned to the exhibition space for a talk on the Heritage Centre Memorial Window, by John Evans of the Pembroke Dock Heritage Trust.
Ailagorodd Llyfrgell Doc Penfro eu man arddangos wedi'r pandemig er mwyn i waith Cysylltiadau Creadigol gael ei ddangos yn y gymuned. Cafodd y sioe ei gosod ganol mis Gorffennaf.
Doedd y gofod ddim yn addas ar gyfer y Cwch Caergybi mawr na gwaith mewn fframiau mawr iawn. Roedd yr arddangosfa'n cynnwys y cychod lleiaf o fflotila Marged Pendrell, a darluniau Peter Stevenson mewn fframiau o'i straeon Fibbing from Fishguard. Dangosodd monitor mawr y ffilmiau a wnaed gan David Begley (The Wexford Whale) a Peter Stevenson a Jacob Whittaker (Uisce Dŵr Water) y naill ar ôl y llall yn barhaus. Fe wnaethon ni ddiweddaru'r paneli gwybodaeth am y prosiect ac ap prosiect Port Places, a chafodd gwaith ysgrifennu ychwanegol gan Kathy D'Arcy am Ddoc Penfro ei gynnwys hefyd.
Tua diwedd yr arddangosfa rhoddodd Martin Crampin sgwrs fer ar waith y prosiect cyn arwain taith gerdded i weld gwydrau lliw yn y dref. Dychwelodd y grŵp i'r man arddangos i gael sgwrs ar Ffenestr Goffa'r Ganolfan Dreftadaeth, gan John Evans o Ymddiriedolaeth Treftadaeth Doc Penfro.
