The photographic series All the Sea View Sheds explores the constancy of outdoor domestic structures in Harbour Village above Fishguard Harbour, West Wales. These images examine the concept of the sea view as inconsequential to practicality through a celebration of home-built storage and work buildings.
All the Sea View Sheds offers a modification to ongoing coastal gentrification in Wales. By focusing on usage and construction, it seeks to centre the role of class in property accessibility. In doing so, this work gently challenges the romantic pictorialism of ‘brochure photography’. The depicted sheds represent the residential continuation of local people in this landscape.
